So do the Customs people pass the package onto Royal Mail? Do they ethn deliver or do I need to get it from my RM depot? How long do Customs take to do their thing?

This is a total pain as I ordered the gun well in advance for some CQB next week. Now I have a stack of mags but no gun :(

it's a complete 'how long's a piece of string' question, it takes as long as the backlog is. i've currently got two parcels coming from rsov, one's at the nottingham depot and awaiting collection, the other's arrived and saying 'accepted' at the international hub, but not got any further yet.

here's the list of the dates if it's any help to you:

13-09-2007 22:59 Nottingham Central Depot Awaiting payment of charges
13-09-2007 22:45 Nottingham Central Depot Arrived at delivery depot
13-09-2007 17:56 National Hub Sorted in hub
13-09-2007 09:44 International Hub En route to delivery depot
13-09-2007 02:52 International Hub RELEASED WITH CHARGES
12-09-2007 14:16 International Hub AWAITING CUSTOMS CHARGING
12-09-2007 14:16 International Hub AWAITING CUSTOMS CHARGES
12-09-2007 13:53 International Hub Arrived in destination country
07-09-2007 18:20 Delivery Agent - HONG KONG - PTT Left origin country
07-09-2007 11:06 Delivery Agent - HONG KONG Collected from customer

basically, it's just a wait and see thing. i've had items take from 4 days up to 5 weeks door to door.

Package number 2 for me has now been released from customs and is en-route to Nottingham Depot.

I'll check the status tomorrow morning and probably go collect at lunchtime.

Still waiting for package number 3 to be cleared by customs after sending the C160 back.

to be honest guys its gonna take a lot longer than normal for things to clear, just imagine all the airsoft guns that are coming in from HK right about now, they will have to sift through everything.

Yeah, sit back a few days before anyone phones them up, or delay sending your C160s back, that way they may just wave other orders through to stop a mountain of parcels, one of on mine made a safe home run this morning, its tracking number never even appeared on the farce site but it arrived, 2 still to arrive form RSOV

As someone else has already noted, it all seems a bit hit and miss at the mo - I ordered and paid for one package from RSOV on September 5th and collected it from B'ham depot on September 14th. I ordered and paid for a package from WGC on September 10th and collected it from the same depot at the same time as the first one, Sept. 14th - I expected to have to wait ages, so it was even more of a pleasant surprise to get it so soon - :D

I didn't bother waiting for the letter. I called my depot and paid the charges (exorbitant and extortionate but I won't get started!) over the phone and set the delivery date for friday.

Looks like I'll FINALLY receive my kit!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

It's not that, (the last order was for 12 guns), it's that I was using the TNT delivery option, in some respects they're no better than parcelfarce but the key thing is they don't hold on to your package while they calculate what Duty & Tax you owe :D of course as I've had 3 consignments in the last few weeks and I've not yet had notification of what I owe yet I've got that unpleasant bit to come :(

Mine arrived today!

I can see what the problem is, underdeclaring the value. The customs declaration was a value of only $60 US so I suspect someone in Customs has smelled a rat.

He tried to do that with me once (thinking he was doing me a favour I suppose). I asked that he declared the full value - it wasn't worth the hassle with customs for a few quid saved.

Sent my form back last Friday. It stated very clearly that I had to state the true value and send proof of purchase. Also that the RM would collect payment. Kinda feel like I am in limbo now - when I used to import stuff from the USA, the postie just handed me a bill, I paid, got my stuff, no hassle.

Big smelly rat here is that suddenly they're impounding all parcels with a low stated value.

You could still say its worth less, the price you paid for it was the value & the condition it was in when it left Hong Kong, a trip through the mail system, parcel farce / royal mail will batter the packaging so what you end up with is a somting that looks less than 100% after its 10,000 mile trip,

Customs told me they had 4 parcels when I had only one sniper rifle and the scope and rings inside the box.
It clearly said value USD $60 on the box but they sent me a declaration asking total on 4 boxes what else could I do.
For a while I though RSOV had sent me some free stuff in error as he has before.
I don't really think it's on paying VAT on postage from China either, if it was only coming from France the postage would not cost so much and that is a service outside of this country so I say it stinks.
VAT on UK postage yes but not outside of the UK.
